Missing Danvers 4-Year-Old Found Drowned

The girl had wandered off from her home and was found in a nearby river.

DANVERS, MA —A four-year-old Danvers girl who was reported missing Sunday afternoon was found drowned in a nearby river.

The girl was transported to Beverly Hospital where she was pronounced dead, Danvers police said in a statement. The girl's identity was not released.

Police were called to the River Drive residence at 12:16 p.m. and conducted an extensive search of the area. The police officer who found the girl started CPR. CPR continued as the Danvers fire department and Atlantic ambulance transported her to the hospital.
