Peabody Man Crashes Jeep Into Danvers Condo
The Jeep narrowly missed the homeowner, who was working from home a few feet away from where the Jeep crashed.
DANVERS, MA —Danvers police say a 39-year-old Peabody man may have had a medical issue that caused him to crash his Jeep Wrangler into a condominium unit at the Meadows complex in Danvers on Wednesday.
"I was working from home. I heard a loud thud," homeowner Qiming Zou told Boston news 10, which first reported this story. While Zou was unhurt, the driver of the Jeep was moaning when Zou turned off the vehicle and called 911.
Police say damage to the home was extensive and the condo is currently uninhabitable. There were no signs of drugs or alcohol, but the driver of the Jeep will be cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, according to Danvers Police Chief Patrick Ambrose.
