Philip Chism Hearing to Clarify Probation Requirements Report
The 16-year-old former Danvers High School student was found guilty on Dec. 15 of killing his math teacher, Colleen Ritzer, of Andover.

SALEM, MA - A hearing in the Commonwealth vs. Philip Chism case is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 7 in Salem Superior Court to clarify the requirements of the probation report, according to the Essex District Attorney’s office.
The 16-year-old former Danvers High School student was found guilty on Dec. 15 of killing his math teacher, Colleen Ritzer, of Andover.
Ritzer, 24, of Andover, a well-liked teacher at Danvers High School was found in October 2013 in the woods near Danvers High School, raped and with her throat slashed.

Chism, 16, who will turn will NOT be present, according to Carrie Kimball Monahan, Director of Communications, Essex District Attorney’s Office.
Chism was in a Boston court a day after he was convicted of first-degree murder. His lawyers and Suffolk County prosecutors agreed to meet again on Feb. 11 in a continuation of a pending case not related to the concluded murder trial.
