Police ID NH Woman Killed At Byfield Farm Stand

Susan Sforza Nico of Seabrook was working at her family's farmstand when a car reversed into the checkout area, and struck and killed her.

BYFIELD, MA — A farm stand worker was killed Saturday when a car reversed suddenly into the the checkout area, officials said.

Police have identified the victim as Susan Sforza Nico, of Seabrook, New Hampshire. The 47-year-old woman was working at Sforza Family Farm, her family's farm stand in Byfield.

The car, operated by a 70-year-old woman, accelerated backward "very, very rapidly" into the farm stand, Newbury Police Chief John Lucey said.

A man and a child were also taken to the hospital after being struck, but both have stabilized, according to the district attorney.

Newbury Police and Massachusetts State Police are looking into the crash. The driver is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged, police said.
