Rep. Speliotis Won't Run For Re-Election
Speliotis has represented Danvers, Middleton and Peabody in the state House of Representatives since 1997.

DANVERS, MA — State Rep. Ted Speliotis will not run for reelection in November.
Speliotis, who was elected to Danvers town meeting at the age of 18, has represented Danvers, Peabody and Middleton in the state legislature since 1997.
"Together we have accomplished a great deal over the years, both in my district and on substantive legislation that has effected every person in the Commonwealth," Speliotis, 67, of Danvers, said. "Now is the time to look forward and embrace the new challenges in life. I look forward to being able to control my schedule and focus greater attention on my family."

Speliotis was the original sponsor of the health care proxy legislation and played a key role in securing the first funding for students with special needs transitioning to adulthood at 21 years old. He also helped secure funding for the Allied Health Nursing School Building on the grounds of North Shore Community College in Danvers.
