Retired Danvers Police Lt. Honored At State House

Retired Lt. Carole Germano was named a Massachusetts Unsung Heroine this week at the State House.

DANVERS, MA – Lt. Carole Germano was the second woman to join the Danvers Police force. Her numerous heroisms include doing most of the composite drawings at Logan Airport on Sept. 11, 2001, which helped identify the 9/11 terrorists; helping to convict a serial child molester accused of abusing two dozen boys; and serving four years active duty as a medic in the Army.

Germano was honored for these actions and more on Wednesday, when she was celebrated as Danvers' 2017 Unsung Heroine at the Massachusetts State House.

"Carole’s passion to serve and protect our community helped to break down barriers that existed in our society over thirty years ago," said Rep. Ted Speliotis, who nominated Germano for the honor. "Her contributions have made our community, our state and our country safer and stronger for all of us."
