Snow Day In Danvers: Schools Closed, Town Office Openings Delayed

Schools are closed on Tuesday with up to six inches of snow forecast for the North Shore.

DANVERS, MA — It's a snow day in Danvers on Tuesday with all public schools closed with a forecast of up to six inches of snow expected overnight on the North Shore.

Non-essential town offices, including Danvers Town Hall, the Department of Public Works business office and the Senior Center, were to set to have a delayed opening on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

There was no parking ban set for Danvers as of Monday night.

The National Weather Service forecast called for the heaviest snowfall coming Monday night, resulting in difficult travel conditions. Wind gusts of up to 35 mph are also expected.

"The snow should develop between 10 p.m. (Monday) and 2 a.m. Tuesday," according to The NWS. "Snow continues on Tuesday impacting the morning commute. Snow will diminish in intensity Tuesday afternoon and may even mix with or change to rain near the coast.

"In addition ... temps rising above freezing will likely limit the impact for the Tuesday afternoon commute."
