With Storm Coming, Topsfield Fair Drops Parking, Admission Fees

The Topsfield Fair will run at limited capacity and has canceled certain events, thanks to the nor'easter moving through the region.

TOPSFIELD, MA — Topsfield Fair officials said they will not charge admission or parking fees Thursday. A nor'easter moving through the region forced fair officials to open at "limited capacity." Fair officials also canceled the rodeo and the scheduled performance by .38 Special.

Agricultural buildings remain open but the midway was closed for safety reasons, officials said in a statement.

The nor'easter expected to dump several inches of rain on parts of Massachusetts got off to a slow start Wednesday, but by Thursday morning wind damage was already being reported along the coast and Cape Cod. Even though most of Wednesday's rainfall was offshore, the storm is still expected to hit hard.
