Topsfield Fairgrounds Opens After 'Potential Threat' Sunday Morning
Executive Director James O'Brien said police swept the Fairgrounds and deemed them safe for the public.

TOPSFIELD, MA — The Topsfield Fairgrounds opened for the 10th day of the 207th Fair on Sunday after police determined the property was safe following a potential threat earlier in the day.
Topsfield Fair Executive Director James O'Brien said that Fair officials were notified of the potential threat at about 7:20 a.m. and there was a multi-agency response to the Fairgrounds, per safety protocols.
"After a complete sweep of the grounds, the Fairgrounds were deemed safe," O'Brien said.

The Fairgrounds opened for the day on schedule at 9:30 a.m.
The 207th Topsfield Fair concludes on Monday with the final day of the schedule.
