North Shore Mother Of 4 Dies From Injuries Suffered During Central MA Hiking Fall
Sutton police said the woman was hiking with three of her children and other family members when she fell between 50 and 75 feet.

TOPSFIELD, MA — A North Shore mother of four died from injuries she suffered from a fall of between 50 and 75 feet during a hike at Purgatory Chasm in Sutton on Wednesday.
Sutton police said the woman was hiking with three of her children and other family members early in the afternoon when she fell.
"There were multiple medical professionals in the area hiking the Chasm at the same time, and were able to provide medical attention right away," police said. "However, she had succumbed to the injuries sustained during the fall, and was pronounced deceased a short time later."

Police said on Thursday morning that the death appears to be accidental.
"We would like to thank the following teams for their quick response and professionalism during this very difficult circumstance," police said. "Sutton Fire Department, Massachusetts State Police, Northbridge Police Department, Sutton MedStar Teams, DCR Rangers, District 7 Technical Rescue Team, District 7 Re-Hab 78 Unit, Massachusetts Environmental Police, and LifeFlight.
