Dedham Speed Limit Drops To 25 MPH

DEDHAM, MA — Starting May 1, drivers in Dedham are going to have to take it slower on the roads.

Starting Tuesday, the town-wide speed limit for roads in thickly settled and business districts will be 25 mph. The new speed limit does not apply to state highways and public ways with a posted speed limit. If you don't see a posted speed limit sign, the speed limit is 25 mph.

The selectmen approved the change earlier this year. The Municipal Modernization Act of 2015 allows municipalities lower the statutory speed limit for roads without speed limit signs.
