Dedham Woman Arrested on Drug Charges in Hyannis
A Dedham woman was busted with several ounces of marijuana, hashish and thousands of dollars in cash over the weekend.

A Dedham woman is facing drug distribution charges after she was arrested alongside a previously convicted drug dealer in Hyannis on Saturday, according to Barnstable police.
Officers on patrol in the area of Stuart Street observed a male suspiciously sitting in a vehicle around 2:30 p.m. Police approached the vehicle and identified the male as Jay Blalock, 44, of Dorchester.

Police conducted a search and found Blalock to be in possession of five ounces of marijuana. Upon further investigation, police learned the vehicle was registered to an unidentified Dedham woman.
The woman later approached the officers who were standing by her vehicle. The woman, who held a valid medical marijuana ID card, was found to be in possession of individually packaged THC candies, containers of hash and $3,500 in cash, police said.

Police later found 8.5 ounces of individually packaged marijuana and a digital scale in the car’s trunk.
The woman, who police never identified, and Blalock, were placed under arrest, booked and charged. Investigators learned Blalock had an outstanding warrant for drug violations in Alabama and that he had previously been convicted on drug charges.
Blalock was charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate narcotics laws and fugitive from justice. The woman was charged with possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate controlled substance law and possession of a class C substance with intent to distribute.
