Noble and Greenough Student Dies Suddenly at Field Hockey Practice
Casey Dunne, 16, suffered a brain hemorrhage while at a team practice last week.

A junior field hockey player at Dedham’s Noble and Greenough High School suffered a brain hemorrhage and died suddenly at a practice this past Friday, the girl’s father says.
According to Matthew Dunne, Casey had no known existing medical conditions. “It’s so hard as parents to lose a child at 16,” Dunne told the newspaper.

Casey, a lifelong resident of Wellesley, also played ice hockey and lacrosse. She had an interest in drama production, and even took part in volunteer work in Romania and Bolivia.
Visiting hours for Casey’s wake will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at George F. Doherty and Sons Funeral Home in Wellesley. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church.

Casey is survived by her two parents, Matthew and Mary, two older siblings and two younger siblings.
