Selectmen Scheduled To Take Rail Trail Study Vote
The board is scheduled to vote on Article 19 of the Annual Town Meeting warrant.

DEDHAM, MA — The selectmen could vote Monday to recommend the passage of Article 19 at May's Town Meeting.
The board is scheduled to discuss and vote on a recommendation for the proposed rail trail study at 7:10 p.m. An affirmative vote does not push the study forward but is no more than an endorsement of the proposal. If approved at Town Meeting, the town sill spend about $400,000 on a design on engineer study, including a traffic circulation study of pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles that impact the schools in proximity to the trail.
If constructed, the Dedham Heritage Rail Trail would run from Dedham Square to East Dedham. Supporter have called the project a great addition to the town because of the healthy nature while opponents are worried about potential crime and the lack of engagement between the town and abutters.
