Along both sides of Washington Street, between High and Bryant streets, metered parking is enforced 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. (Parking is free before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and all day on Sundays.)
Along High Street west of Washington Street and on Court Street, metered parking is enforced 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. (Parking is free before 8 a.m. and after 4 p.m. and all day on Sundays.)
Tips for using the new parking meters:
- Parking is limited to 2-hours during the posted times.
- The first 10 minutes are free. Pay before you leave to take advantage of this 10-minute grace period.
- Metered parking costs 25 cents for each 15-minute increment. A citation for failure to pay or underpayment costs $20.
- Meters accept payment by quarters, credit card, or through the mobile app (Sentry Mobile app).
- Please send questions about parking to parking@dedham-ma.gov
Unlike traditional parking meters, which require payment up front, one can pay these parking meters at any time during the parking session. This convenience factor allows you to pay for only the time you need. No one should receive a parking ticket unless they fail to pay for usage before vacating the spot.
Just pull up to the parking spot and the meter will detect you're there. Before you leave, pay for your time at the meter through a variety of payment methods.
Touchless payment options include paying for each session using the Sentry mobile app and a "concierge" service in the mobile app that functions like E-ZPass. This short video provides an overview:
Free parking is available in three nearby municipal lots
- Keystone Lot (10 Eastern Avenue) 138 spaces
- Lower Gonzalez (506 High Street) 45 spaces
- Upper Gonzalez (420 Providence Highway) 27 spaces
