5 Things You Need to Know Today in Dover, Sherborn: Aug. 7

You can buy local produce and see a jazz show today right here in Dover-Sherborn.

1. The Powisset Farm Stand is open today from 1:30-6:30. Located at 37 Powisset Street in Dover, they sell their own farm produce, as well as local eggs, meat, fish, honey, jam and a whole lot more.

2. Construction to install a new oil tank for the Caryl Community Center in Dover is scheduled to begin on August 10. When construction is started the power will be cut to the building because of digging that needs to take place. During this time period the Parks & Recreation office staff will be relocated to the Lower Town Hall while the power is out. It is possible any events scheduled to take place over a 1-2 week period may be affected, so be aware of this situation.

3. The Sherborn Inn will be featuring The Riverboat Stompers tonight at 7:30 as part of their Jazz at the Inn 2012 Tuesday's Jazz Series. Admission is $10, unless you're under 40, in which case it's free.

4. A reminder that two weeks from today, on Tuesday, August 21, Dover-Sherborn High School will host a Transfer Welcome from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for students and parents who are new to the Dover-Sherborn community.
