“I would say hands-down they’re the most fundamentally sound team in the TVL,” said Medway head coach Jesse Knott III. “There’s no doubt that if the groundballs are there they’re going to box out. They’re going to do the fundamentally sound thing.”
D-S head coach Brian McLaughlin said, “It was nice. I thought our ball movement in transition was awesome. We got a lot of nice finishes off fast breaks.”

“Jared Spence was the recipient of some nice cross-passes from P.J. [Copponi]. Billy [Polk] made some nice dodges up top getting the ball moving and getting us out in transition and getting some easy goals for us,” McLaughlin said.
Raiders goalie Jeff Williams, , played great in net stoning Medway throughout most of the game.
“Jeff was outstanding. He made some nice saves, some good clears, and got us some easy fast breaks,” McLaughlin said.
The in Dover, back in May, Medway squandered most of their opportunities with errant passes out of bounds or over the heads of their own players. Both coaches talked about how the Mustangs have continued to get better throughout the season.
“We’ve been consistently improving I think the entire year. It’s been the commitment of the senior class and the upperclassmen, just being open minded, constantly improving, constantly doing the work,” said Knott III.
McLaughlin said, “I thought we played well against a very improved Medway team. From the beginning of the year to the end of the year they played hard. They played hard throughout the whole game and that was a good team.”
Spence led the all scorers with five goals in the game. Copponi scored four goals and had four assists in the game and Ben Newbert had three goals for D-S.
For Medway, James Peters led the way for the Mustangs with two goals and an assist. Sean Peters also added two goals for Medway.
Dover-Sherborn will now square-off against #8 seed Norwell in a home game on Monday at 5:00 p.m.
