D-S Boys Lax Wins Big Over Medway
Raiders Jared Spence and Brandon Jaeger each scored four goals apiece to lead D-S to victory.
The D-S Raiders started off slow in their game against Medway on Friday afternoon, leading 1-0 after the first quarter.
Medway's defense stifled the Raiders through most of the first half, keeping D-S from handling the ball cleanly and preventing them from getting off good shots.
But the Raiders spent almost the entire game on the offensive and slowly chipped away through the final three quarters leading to a 13-3 win on their home field.

“That’s been probably our biggest problem area. Our defense is strong. We have solid individual defenders and I’m grateful for that but possession is probably the one thing I lose sleep over,” said Medway head coach Jesse Knott III.
“I think we started passing a little better in the second half. We were almost cutting too much at the beginning so we were clogging the crease up and then once we started spreading it out and starting putting some shots in it kind of fell our way,” said D-S head coach Brian McLaughlin.

“We’re pretty good at possessing the ball and passing it around so that’s what we like to try to do to teams,” McLaughlin said.
Most of the offensive opportunities Medway did get were squandered by errant passes and good defense by Dover-Sherborn.
“It’s obvious I think a blind man could smell the fact that we didn’t possess the ball enough,” Knott III said. “It’s unfortunate we don’t possess it and we don’t find that urgency but we’re working on it.”
“They played pretty good defense today. I think our stick skills are just a little better than theirs and they’re still a fairly new program, so I think they’re definitely going to improve. They’re definitely getting better,” McLaughlin said.
Junior Jared Spence and sophomore Brandon Jaeger each scored four goals apiece to lead the Raiders in the win. Senior P.J. Copponi added two goals.
For Medway Ryan Johnson, James Peters and Jack McNamara each scored goals.
The Raiders upped their record to 11-2 on the season. Medway is now 5-7 on the year.
