D-S Schools To Receive Green Awards For Composting Initiative

The awards will be given by at Green Schools' 2011 Green Difference Awards at Mansfield High School tonight.

The Dover-Sherborn Regional School District's  will receive a Green Project Award as part of the Green Schools' 2011 Green Difference Awards presentation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Mansfield High School, Monday night.

D-S schools will also be receiving a Green Project Award for the composting program.

Dover-Sherborn Regional High School senior Aaron Small will be honored as a Green Student at the event.

Mansfield-based Green Schools is a nonprofit promoting "greener and healthier learning environments through education and awareness," according to its website.

The Sharon, Foxborough and Mansfield schools will be receiving a Green Program Award for participating in the Hockomock Area YMCA's Healthy Futures Initiative. The Mansfield schools also will receive a Green Schools Award.

And Mansfield High senior Lexie Raczka will be honored as a Green Student. She is the president and founder of the Green Earth Hornets.
