Dover-Sherborn Girls Place 4th And Boys Place 6th At TVL Meet

D-S will bring qualifying athletes to the MIAA Division IV State Meet next Friday, May 27 at North Reading.

Dover-Sherborn wrapped up its TVL play at the league meet Thursday night at Westwood High School.

Despite the rain, the Raiders had some strong performances.

On the boys side, senior captains Steve O'Connor and Will Bain led the way by winning the high jump and 100m, respectively. O'Connor won the high jump with a leap of 5'10".

Bain edged out Brian Gannon of Norton by .09 seconds to win the 100m in 11.4.

Bain also anchored the 4x100m relay team to a 5th place finish with senior Matt Moon and juniors Chris Chisholm and Sean Donovan.

Donovan also placed eighth in the 100m with 12.38.

Chisholm placed third in the javelin with a throw of 136'4".

Freshman Dan Carroll placed second in the discus with a throw of 114'0" while senior Aaron Small placed fifth with a throw of 110'5".

Juniors Toby Hower and Teddy Mosher worked together in the mile to finish eighth and ninth in 4:52.19 and 4:52.35, respectively.

Senior captain Mike Rudin finished 10th in high jump with a jump of 5'2" while sophomore Connor McCormick finished ninth in the 110m hurdles in 18.70.


On the girls' side, sophomore Lee Milne led the way with two second place finishes. Milne ran just under 3 seconds behind Hopkinton's Nora Smith to take the runner-up spot in a fast 5:16.92. Milne was also second in the 2-mile in 11:54.10.

A few seconds behind her, sophomore Olivia Cannon finished third in the 2 mile in 12:01.48.

Senior captain Sarah Warden picked up two third place finishes and one fourth in the 200m, high jump, and 4x100m relay.

Warden ran a 27.53 in the 200m for a third place (she also ran 27.21 in trials); jumped a personal best of 4'9" in the high jump; and anchored the 4x100m team to 54.07 alongside sophomore Kali Sherburne and freshmen Greer Campbell and Katrina Brace.

Sophomore Chandler Wood finished third in a tight 400m race in a 61.78.

Sophomore Christy Joline threw to a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 28'11".

Junior Lauren Mitchell threw 73'0" in the discus to finish in sixth place.

Senior captain Lizzie Briskin ran to a sixth place finish in the mile (5:43.33) while junior Rebecca Terrett finished eighth in 5:52.61.

Sophomore Audrey Lewis ran to a tenth place finish in the 800m in 2:36.83.

Sophomore Rachel Cunningham also ran to a tenth place finish in the 400m Hurdles in a new school record and personal best by 4 seconds (76.90).

Dover-Sherborn will bring qualifying athletes to the MIAA Division IV State Meet next Friday, May 27 at North Reading.
