Letter To The Editor: 'Thank You' From The Sherborn Library Trustees

Thank you, Sherborn voters, for your support at Town Meeting of Article 12. Your “yes” vote, which approved preliminary designs for the Library’s renovation and expansion project, means that Sherborn remains in contention for a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) that could fund up to 50% of construction costs. 

Your vote demonstrates local support for the Library, an important factor as the MBLC selects its award recipients.

We will find out in July whether Sherborn is among the 10 lucky towns to be awarded one of these unique and competitive grants for which 30 towns have applied.

If Sherborn is awarded a state grant, a vote to allocate town funding for the parts of the project not covered by the grant would likely take place at a Special Town Meeting in the fall.
