Steve O'Connor Sets School Record While Dover-Sherborn Falls To Medfield

O'Connor had a big day winning both the triple jump (38'4") and high jump as he broke a 22-year-old school record of 6'4".

D-S senior captain Steve O'Connor had a big day winning both the triple jump (38'4") and high jump as he broke a 22-year-old school record of 6'4" while DS boys fell to Medfield (52-84).

The record was previously held by Tim Bey ('81) and Chris Pavlic ('89) at 6'2".

Senior captain Will Bain brought home three victories as he won the 100m (11.3), long jump (19'1"), and anchored the winning 4x100m (46.6) comprised of senior Matt Moon and juniors Sean Donovan and Chris Chisholm. Chisholm also won the javelin in 140'4".

Senior Aaron Small won the discus (119') while the boys 4x400m comprised of juniors Teddy Mosher, Toby Hower, Stephen Mayfield and sophomore Geoff Stevens ran to a win in a divisional qualifying time of 3:48.5.

Freshman Dan Carroll picked up a second and a third in the discus (113'11") and shot put (38'10.75"), respectively.

On the girls' side, junior Gabby McElrath led the way with a first and second as the girls fell to Medfield (45-86).

McElrath won the discus (74') and grabbed the runner-up spot in the javelin (79'6").

D-S swept the discus with senior captain Courtney McCurdy and junior Lauren Mitchell taking second and third with throws of 71' and 67'3".

Senior captain Sarah Warden picked up a first and third in the high jump (4'6") and 200m (26.3), respectively.

In the 800m, sophomore Chandler Wood ran to the lead early on and maintained her stance there picking up a win in 2:29.4.

Sophomore Lee Milne and senior Lizzy Briskin took first and second in the 2 mile with time of 12:11.4 and 12:11.6, respectively.

Junior Molly Heer triple jumped to a second place with a persona best of 29'6".
