Week In Review: May 16-May 22

Dover election day, D-S prom night, and a TVL championship.

Monday was , where less than 10 percent of registered voters in Dover voted. The only contested race of the election was for a three-year seat on the Cemetery Commission, between Pope Hoffman and David MacTavish. Hoffman won the seat by a vote of 215-68. There was no candidate on the ballot for the three-year seat on the Dover-Sherborn Regional School Committee. But at the Dover Board of Selectmen Meeting on Thursday  after receiving 28 write-in votes.

Friday night was prom night for D-S. The Sherborn Day Spa was busy applying makeup and doing hair  in the parking lot of the Dover Church where the teens were all dressed up taking pictures with family and friends before being whisked away in their limos to the Granite Links Country Club in Quincy.

The D-S boys varsity lacrosse team defeated rival Medfield in thrilling fashion to . Billy Polk scored three goals for the Raiders. Jared Spence, P.J. Copponi, Chad Huemme, and Chris Flight all scored one goal apiece in what was truly a team effort.

The Dover-Sherborn girls track team placed fourth and the boys placed sixth at the  at Westwood High School Thursday night. D-S will bring qualifying athletes to the MIAA Division IV State Meet next Friday, May 27 at North Reading.
