Easton police said Aderito Amado, of Brockton, was arrested for illegally possessing a .45-caliber handgun.

EASTON, MA — Easton police this week arrested a Brockton man on gun charges following a routine traffic stop. Aderito Amado, 27, illegally possessed a .45-caliber handgun, according to Easton Police Chief Gary Sullivan.
An officer encountered Amado on Route 123 after his Infiniti sedan broke down, police said.
Chief Gary Sullivan reports that the Easton Police Department arrested a Brockton man on gun charges after an officer encountered his disabled vehicle Monday afternoon. Amado gave the officer a false name and a search of the car turned up the gun, which was found under the driver's seat, police said. Amado did not possess a driver's license or firearm license, police said.

Amado was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, improper storage of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, driving without a license and providing a false name to police.

He was released on $25,000 bail pending an arraignment in Taunton District Court.
