Falmouth Fire: Dog Killed, Resident Hurt
Falmouth firefighters extinguished a fire on Plum Hollow Road.

FALMOUTH, MA — One person was injured and a dog was killed in a fire in Falmouth on Plum Hollow Road Friday. The individual's injuries were not considered serious, according to Falmouth fire officials. The fire broke out at about 1:45 p.m.
"First arriving units (encountered) an occupied 2 story dwelling heavily involved in fire," Falmouth Fire/Rescue said in a statement. "Numerous attack lines were stretched and the fire was knocked down in approx 45 mins."
Firefighters from Mashpee and Joint Base Cape Cod helped with the firefighting effort. The Red Cross is assisting the family displaced by the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
