Woman Tells Cops “Your Police Rules Mean Nothing,” Gets Citation on Lansdowne Street

Boston Police officers observed a silver Nissan parked an odd angle on the sidewalk on Lansdowne Street at 12:15 a.m. on September 23. Police spoke to two pedestrians who claimed that they were walking when the Nissan jumped the curb.

The suspect fled the scene but returned shortly after. When the police asked for the driver’s license and registration, the driver said, “no.”

The officer reportedly told the suspect that they were subject to arrest for refusing to submit to an officer in the State of Massachusetts and that they should hand over their license and registration.

The suspect reportedly replied, “No. Your police rules mean nothing to me.”

The officer reportedly asked for the suspects’ identification and registration two more times and then detected the slight smell of alcohol. The suspect was then placed under arrest for refusing to submit to a police officer while operating a motor vehicle, two counts of negligent operation: Driving on the sidewalk and an OUI. Stadium Auto towed the vehicle away.

When the suspect was taken in for booking, it was determined that the suspect was not drunk and had a blood alcohol level of 0.03. The suspect was informed that they would not be charged with an OUI.

The suspect was issued a citation for negligent operation and refusal to submit.
