Mayor Menino Advises Drivers to Drive Safely on First Day of School
Today is both the first day of school and an election day in town.

Mayor Thomas Menino sent out a press release imploring drivers to drive with care tomorrow as thousands of school children head back to school in the City and voters head to the polls today.
“With thousands of kids headed to school, slow down, and look twice for children crossing the street or hopping on and off the school bus,” Mayor Menino said in his press release. “Let’s make this a safe first day of school for everyone.”
Drivers are asked to travel responsibly, slowly and patiently. Drivers should note the slower speed limits in school zones and pay proper mind to crossing guards.

Today is also an Election Day in town and many voting cites are in school buildings and other public buildings.
