A Melrose man was arrested near Kilmarnock and Van Ness Street yesterday, September 11 at around 10:29 p.m. Two officers were performing a detail outside Fenway Park during the Sox and Yankees game on Kilmarnock and Van Ness Street. <a href="http://www.bpdnews.com/2012/09/12/destroying-property-leaves-one-car-mirror-breaking-suspect-reflecting-on-and-likely-second-guessing-his-poor-decisions/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">According to the report put out by BPD News</a>, officers heard people yelling, "Get him!" Officers reportedly observed a man running in their direction and stopped the suspect. Officers learned that the suspect was observed breaking a mirror of a parked car. As the officers were booking the man, he reportedly snapped his head back, head-butting the two cops in an attempt to disrupt the arrest and potentially flee. After a struggle, the suspect was taken into custody. Tyler Murphy, 20, of Melrose, MA was charged with willful and malicious destruction of property, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.  Information used in this article was supplied by the Boston Police Department.
