3-Year Framingham Teachers Contract Approved

The School Committee approved a new contract Tuesday night. The Framingham Teachers Association support the contract in an earlier vote.

The Framingham School Committee approved a new 3-year contract for the Framingham Teachers Association, the largest of the district’s union contracts Tuesday night.

The School Committee issued a press release on May 29, it had reached a tentative agreement with the Framingham Teachers Association.

The new contract provides a .75 percent raise at the start of FY 2015 and another 1 percent raise halfway through the year.

In 2016, union members will receive a 1 percent raise and another 1 percent halfway through the school year.

In 2017, union members will receive a 1 recent raise and another 1 percent halfway through the school year.

The new contract also stipulates the superintendent’s office needs to inform union members of district updates ahead of the media, through email and the district’s website. Union members have been vocal about receiving news about the district from the Framingham Patch as opposed to their employer.
