5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: April 3
Today is Good Friday. McAuliffe Charter School students have classes. Parents campaign to raise $50,000 for Framingham United Soccer Club.

1. There is no school for students in the Framingham Public School district today. Students at the Christa McAuliffe Charter School do have class today Students are making up snow day #8 today.
2. Today is Good Friday. Good Friday is a holy day commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. Catholics treat the holy day as a day of fasting and a day not to eat meat.
3. Congresswoman Katherine Clark was in Framinghamyesterdaym April 2. She visited with Barbara Doyle, the CEO of MetroWest Medical Center, toured the operations center and bunker at the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency on Route 9, and the in the afternoon visited with students from the Resiliency for Life program and a Framingham High robotics class. 4. Yesterday, a group of parents, whose children participate in the Framingham United Soccer Club’s U6 program, want to raise $50,000 for the 40-year old organization. They launched the campaign. In its first day, the group raised more than $850.
In mid-February, the Club’s Board of Directors removed its treasurer from his position, after it was discovered more than $100,000 was missing from the organization’s accounts. Last month, Framingham United Soccer Club President Rob Kirkpatrick said the former treasurer is now the focus of an investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.
5. Framingham State University President Dr. F. Javier Cevellos spoke at the Framingham Library, as part of the Lifelong Lecture series, last night.
