5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: February 27
Framingham High Drama Company staging Vieux Carre tonight, Keefe Tech's opening night of Peter Pan at 7, Town launches HD channel with RCN.

1. Tomorrow, Framingham High School will compete in the 2015 Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild’s Drama Festival. The drama company has done well in the past making it to the finals of 10 of the last 12 years, including last year. They won in 2006. This year’s entry will by the drama company’s first ever production of a Tennesse Williams play.
Tonight, the Framingham High Drama Company will stage Vieux Carré, Williams’ autobiographical play, at Framingham High at 7. Tickets are $10 and are still available at www.showtix4u.com. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

2. The Keefe Tech High School Drama Club will stage two performances of Peter Pan, based on the novel by J.M. Barrie and adapted by Craig Sodaro, this weekend.
Tonight is opening night. Curtain rises at 7. The final show will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. Both performances are at the school’s auditorium at 750 Winter Street in Framingham. The public is invited. Tickets will be available at the door. $5 for adults and $2 for seniors and children under age 12.

3. Framingham State Rep. Chris Walsh, one of three Democrats who represent the town, was appointed vice chair of the joint committee on public service, to the house committee on ways & means, to the joint committee on transportation and to the joint committee on financial services, by Massachusetts Speaker of the House Robert DeLeo. 4. The Town of Framingham Government Channel and RCN Boston launched a high definition (HD) channel in Framingham to provide high quality coverage of municipal meetings.
5. Framingham State University’s women’s basketball team lost to top-seeded Westfield State 79-65, in the semifinals of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic conference women’s basketball tournament at the Woodward Center in Westfield last night. With the loss, the Rams fall to 16-9 on the season.
