5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: March 16

Meeting tonight on the "future leadership" at Framingham High and free cone day at Dairy Queen.

​​​1. Today is free cone day at Dairy Queen locations across the country, to celebrate the restaurant’s 75th anniversary. Visitors will receive a free, small vanilla cone. The closest Dairy Queen open for Framingham residents is the one on Route 126 in Ashland, near the Market Basket plaza.


2. Parents of Framingham High students, as well as grade 8 middle school students, are invited to a meeting tonight at Framingham High at 7 with the Framingham Superintendent of Schools Stacy Scott. The Superintendent wants to hear parents thoughts on what to do with the Framingham High School principal position, now that first-year principal and Framingham resident Adam Goldberg resigned.

“I now am eliciting feedback on the future leadership at the high school and would welcome hearing from parents any feedback and information you would like to share,” said Scott. The meeting is from 7 to 8 p.m. in room H100 at Framingham High.

3. Tonight, the Communications Task Force, appointed by the Framingham School Committee, is scheduled to meet at 7 at the King Administration Building to discuss the results of the survey on communications.

More than 1,200 individuals participated in the survey.
4. In case you missed it: Both Framingham High and Marian High school unfortunately did not qualify for the finals of the state’ drama festival. However, Framingham High earned 5 awards from the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild during the semifinal round.

5. Registration for the 2015 McAuliffe 5K Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, May 9, is now open. Any runner who registers by March 19, will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of club tickets to a Boston Celtics game on March 22.
