5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: March 18

Tonight is Brophy Elementary's annual science fair and the annual Music in Our Schools concert.

​​​1. As part of the Framingham Police Department’s goal to increase interaction with community, a monthly coffee with the chief now will be held to discuss a variety of public safety topics. This morning between 9 and 10 a.m. at the Memorial Building will be the first coffee with Framingham Police Chief Ken Ferguson.



2. Tonight is the 17th Annual Brophy Elementary Science Fair. The event is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Families are welcome to attend.


3. Tonight is also the annual Music in Our Schools Concert. All three middle schools (Cameron, Fuller and Walsh) plus Framingham High musicians will perform at a concert tonight at 7 at Framingham High


4. Framingham teens are invited to a special tea today at 4 p.m. at the main Framingham Library to discuss their favorite books. The event is free and no pre-registration is required.


5. A wind advisory is in effect today until 5 p.m. The National Weather Service is predicting northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts of up to 45 mph. Wind could be strong enough to knock down small tree limbs and branches.

Isolated power outages are possible and driving may be difficult at times today, because of the wind, said the Weather Service.
