5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: March 25

State house visit, Framingham High musicians win awards, artists' talk, and historical presentation at Framingham Library featured today.

1. Saint Bridget School students visited the Massachusetts State House. Grade 4 and grade 5 students also met with one of Framingham’s three state representatives - Tom Sannicandro.

2. Over the weekend, the Framingham High Jazz Band won a gold medal at the Massachusetts Association for Jazz Education (MAJE) state finals. Outstanding musicianship awards given to Framingham High musicians Jeremy Galloway (guitar), David Winters (piano), Eric Tarlin (alto sax), and Chris Barone (bass). 3. Artists Prilla Smith Brackett and Amy Ragus will discuss their exhibit “Fractured Visions, at Danforth Art today at 12:30 p.m. Artist talks are free for Danforth Art members, and with museum admission.

4. The Framingham State University women’s lacrosse team opened the 2015 season with 13-10 loss to Regis College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Maple Street Field in Framingham. Stephanie Leonard, a Framingham High product, scored a goal for the Rams in the loss.

The Rams are back in action this afternoon when they host Mitchell College at 4:30 p.m. at the Maple Street Field. The public is invited to attend.

5. Historical re-enactor George Baker will present “My Wife, Abigail Adams, the First Modern American Woman” tonight at 7 at the main Framingham Library.

Baker gives a witty and inspiring performance from the perspective of President John Adams. He talks with affection and humor about his wife, Abigail Adams, who made the Adams family prosperous through her skills and ingenuity. Theirs was a 53 year marriage of equals who passionately worked for the creation and nurturing of the new American nation. Refreshments.

The event, in the Costin Room, is free.
