5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: March 5

Final day to bid in Stapleton auction, essay winners announced tonight, and Potter Road Elementary students compete in problem solving Bowl.

1. Today is the final day to bid in the first-ever Stapleton Elementary School PTO online auction. There are more than 50 items, including Celtics tickets and summer camps. Click here to view the items.

2. Tonight, the winners of the Framingham Library’s Homework Center’s essay contest will be announced at the Deluxe Depot Diner in Framingham at 6.

One middle school students and one high school students will each win $100 for their essay on What They Love About Framingham.

3. The Potter Road Elementary Brainstormers Club competed in the regional qualifying Bowl of the Massachusetts Future Problem Solving program last weekend. This year’s topic was Propaganda.

The Brainstormers Club is open to all fourth and fifth graders at Potter Road Elementary. Beverly Hugo, Chair of the Framingham School Committee, has been coaching this program for 22 years.

4. Danforth Art Museum and School has extended its deadline for early registration for spring classes. If you register before March 19, for any class that meets more than 6 times, you will save money. Click here for more details. Classes start April 6.
