5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: May 28

Framingham High boys volleyball team will travel to Natick for a MIAA Central Division 1 playoff game tonight.

1. The Framingham high boys volleyball team qualified for the MIAA post-season tournament. Framingham will travel to Natick High tonight for an opening round Central Division 1 playoff game at 7. The Flyers are ranked #9 and the Redhawks are ranked #8.

2. Middlesex Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian and a Massachusetts state representative have filed a bill targeting those convicted in child pornography and child enticement cases and allowing for the seizure of assets tied to those crimes. The proposal, House Bill 1148: An Act Regarding Asset Forfeiture, if passed, would allow state and county prosecutors to petition courts at the end of successful prosecutions to seize the assets of individuals used in the commission of these crimes after conviction. 3. The Framingham Community Connections Coalition launched a new website this week. The Coalition is neighborhood-based and resident-driven, and builds upon the existing strengths of families and the community, facilitates partnerships with supportive resources and services for the purposes of strengthening families, eliminating child abuse and neglect, and building a healthier community. 4. Brophy Elementary is holding an open house tonight from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In conjunction with the open house is an art show of student work.

5. The Framingham High girls lacrosse team hosted Needham High yesterday afternoon. The Rockets defeated the Flyers 17-9. Seniors on the team were recognized at halftime. Click here to see photos from the loss.
