5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: May 5

Happy Cinco de Mayo, Flyers softball wins, Marian softball loses and Town Meeting resumes tonight for Night 4!

1. Today is Cinco de Mayo. Have you tried out the new Mexican restaurant in Framingham?

Today, may be a good day to check out Mi Cocina in downtown Framingham.

If you are in Ashland today, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in MetroWest is Mexico City Taqueria, owned by a Framingham family. They were part of the 5th Annual Taste of MetroWest sponsored by the the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce in March.

2. Framingham Town Meeting resumes tonight. It will be night 4.

Town Meeting will start at 7:30 p.m. in Nevins Hall at the Memorial Building or when there is a quorum of Town Meeting members.

3. The Framingham High girls softball team registered its fifth win of the season Monday against Walpole. Thanks to Janet Leombruno for the slideshow of two dozen photos. Click here to view.

4. Marian High’s softball team was shut out 14-0 by Lowell Catholic yesterday. Click here to view a slideshow of more than 3 dozen photos from the loss.

None of the Marian High sports team has home games today. The tennis team is one the road to Quincy to play Archbishop Williams.

5. FLYERS in action today:

  • The Framingham High girls lacrosse team hosts Walpole at 3:45 p.m.
  • The boys lacrosse team travels to Walpole for a game with the Rebels at 7:15 p.m.
