5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: May 7

Former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinex will be in Framingham today signing copies of his new book, which was released on Tuesday.

1. Framingham Town Meeting continues tonight - Night 6.

Last night, Framingham Town Meting members approved a $1.155 million technology request by the Framingham Public Schools, as part of Article 12, which is a $19 million capital budget request for Fiscal Year 2016.

Town Meeting is scheduled to start at 7;30 p.m. in Nevins Hall at the Memorial Building.

2. Hall of Fame bound Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez will be in Framingham tonight signing copies of his newest book - Pedro.

Martinez, whose book was released Tuesday, will be at The Paper Store in Shoppers World from 7 to 9 p.m. only.

The store says the line will not start forming before 6 p.m. A purchase of the book is required to have Martinez sign. Click here for more details and rules.

3. A portion of Route 135 will be closed in Ashland through the end of this week, and maybe next week, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Click here for the eastbound and westbound detours.

4. Framingham High boys lacrosse team is the only Flyers home today. They will host Wellesley at 4 p.m.

5. Mothers and More and Framingham Library are co-sponsoring a screening of the documentary Babies tonight. Attendees are asking to bring a box of diapers to the free event at 7 at the main Framingham Library in the Costin room. Click here for more details.
