5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: November 4

Marian girls soccer in playoffs, 4 PTO meetings tonight, and Flyers cheerleaders and dance squads in competition this afternoon.

1. Framingham First is having a reception and fundraiser tonight at Samba Steak and Sushi House on Route 9 East. The public is invited to attend and meet members of the Framingham First Committee and learn about their petition drive to create a Charter Commission to study the Town of Framingham’s form of government. The event is from 6 to 8 p.m.

2. The main Framingham Library is still closed.

PLAN AHEAD: Thursday’s presentation The Sonnet: Worlds Into Words with Helen Heineman scheduled for the Costin room will now take place in the Blumer Room in The Memorial Building at 7. The event is free and open to the public.

3. The Framingham High cheerleaders and dance squads will travel to Braintree today for competitions.

4. The Marian High girls soccer team travels to Watertown for an MIAA Division 4 playoff game against Maimonides at 2 p.m. The Mustangs are seeded #11 in the tournament.
