3. Cost Plus World Market opens at Shoppers World today. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4 with a visit from HGTV’s The Property Brothers.

4. Organizers of the fall festival on Farm Pond, OctoberFEST announced Wednesday that the outdoor festival would be cancelled due to what was then Tropical Storm Joaquin and now is Hurricane Joaquin.
