5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: September 30
TWPTO and Framingham Selectmen meet tonight. Book talk on The Assault on Communities of Color and Parks and Recreation registration begins.

1. Parks & Recreation registration opens today at 9 a.m. for most fall programs.
Registration for the department’s popular Learn to Skate program is on Monday, Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Loring Arena.
2. Tonight is the first meeting of the TWPTO. Meeting will take place at Potter Road Elementary School at 7. Guest speaker is Assistant Superintendent of Schools Frank Tiano.

3. Framingham Selectmen are scheduled to meet tonight at 7 in the Memorial Building.
4. Framingham State University will host a book talk The Assault on Communities of Color - Race-based Violence in the Era of the New Jim Crow today at 4:30 p.m., in the Alumni Room. In this book talk, critical race theorists Nicholas Hartlep and Kenneth Fasching-Varner discuss their recent book The Assault on Communities of Color: Exploring the Realities of Race-Based Violence.
