5 Things You Need To Know Today in Framingham: Thanksgiving 2015

MetroWest Boot Camp fundraiser, 21st Annual Turkey Trot, 110th Annual Natick vs Framingham football game, 27th Annual Curtis Family Dinner.

Happy Thanksgiving!

1. MetroWest Boot Camp, located in the former Saxonville Mill in Framingham, will hold its 6th Annual Thanksgiving Morning Boot Camp today from 6 to 7 a.m. Each year, the Framingham business selects a woman battling breast cancerto raise funds for. This year’s recipient is Alexa Hu, a Framingham mom, who is battling both breast and brain cancer. She has two daughters, ages 1 and 3. This year’s workout fundraiser will be held at the Hampton Inn at 319 Speen Street in Natick, at the hotel’s ballroom from 6 to 7 a.m. Cost is $20 per person and $50 maximum per family. Babysitting will be available, so no excuses.

2. The 21st Annual Turkey Trot will start and end at the Framingham Police Station today. The 3.1 mile, timed course fundraiser race is sold out. The race is sponsored by the Framingham Fire Department Local 1652 and the Framingham Police Association. This year’s race will raise money for the Veterans Outreach Center: MetroWest Chapter, which provide critical services to veterans of the MetroWest area.

3. Today is the 110th annual Thanksgiving Day game between Framingham and Natick. Natick will host the game. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. The Flyers are 2-8, but the Red Hawks struggles this year and are 4-6. Go Flyers!

4. Everyone is welcome to attend and have turkey and all the fixings at the 27th Annual Curtis Family Thanksgiving dinner today between noon and 6 p.m. at Eagles Hall in downtown Framingham. Volunteers are also needed to set up, serve, and do dishes.
