β€œWith crude oil prices hovering at around $41 a barrel, Americans will be enjoying the lowest gas prices since 2008 as they travel this holiday week,” said Mary Maguire, AAA Northeast Director of Public & Legislative Affairs. β€œGiven the fundamentals related to refinery output, domestic gasoline inventories and current consumer demand, we anticipate that motorists will benefit from lower pump prices through the end of the year and beyond.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 56 cents, from a low of $1.93 to a high of $2.49.

AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up β€” every trip, every time.
