AAA: Massachusetts Gas Prices 10 Cents Less Than National Average

According to AAA Northeast survey, gas prices remain the same this week, as last week.

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same as last week, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham, off Route 9.

AAA’s March 30 survey of prices in Massachusetts found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.32 per gallon, the same as last week.

Prices locally are five cents lower than a month ago.

The current price is 10 cents less than the national average for self serve unleaded of $2.42.

A year ago at this time the Massachusetts average price was $1.19 higher at $3.51.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 48 cents, from a low of $2.11 to a high of $2.59.

AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up — every trip, every time.

AAA Fuel Saving Tip of the Week: Lighten the load. Don’t haul unnecessary weight in the passenger compartment, trunk, or cargo area of your vehicle. A heavier vehicle uses more gas.
