Although November, There's Still Road Construction in Framingham

Road treatment work scheduled for Belknap on Tuesday and Wednesday, expect significant delays.

Although the calendar says November, there is still road work going on in Framingham.

Below is a list of both the Town of Framingham and MassDOT projects this week.

All work is weather permitting.

  • BELKNAP ROAD: On Tuesday, Nov. 3 and Wednesday, Nov. 4, it is anticipated that a NovaChip surface treatment will be applied to the roadway. Expect significant delays.
  • CENTRAL STREET BRIDGE OVER THE SUDBURY RIVER: Construction of the new bridge will continue. Traffic will continue to be detoured over the Wickford Road Bridge. Please allow additional travel time.
  • COBURN STREET/WINTHROP STREET AREA: The contractor will complete the sidewalks on Winthrop Street and install curbing and sidewalks on Cedar Street. Castings will be raised on Winthrop Street and Cedar Street in preparation of the final paving. Expect delays.
  • DOWNTOWN FRAMINGHAM RECONSTRUCTION: Contractors will continue to install streetscape improvements on Concord Street at Union Avenue as well as install traffic signals, street lights and wiring throughout the project. Expect moderate delays and on-street parking restrictions.
  • EVERSOURCE DOWNTOWN UTILITY PROJECT: The contractor will continue conduit installation on Waverly Street, Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect moderate delays.
  • LAKE ROAD AND OLD CONNECTICUT PATH: Eversource will be replacing gas main and services in the area. Expect moderate delays.
  • MAIN STREET (Day Work): Utility contractors will continue utility work on Granite Street, Main Street, Maple Street and Moulton Park Road. Traffic plans may include one-way alternating traffic and/or detours. Expect traffic delays on affected roadways. Police details will be on site to facilitate traffic.
  • MAIN STREET (Night Work) Eversource Gas will be replacing the gas main on Main Street between Franklin Street and Maple Street. Hours of operation are 8 p.m to 5 a.m.
  • ROUTE 9 BRIDGE OVER FOSS RESERVOIR OUTLET: Contractor will shift the workzone to begin construction of the southern section of the bridge. The westbound pedestrian sidewalk will remain closed. Expect moderate delays.
