American Girl's Ashley Newhall Winner of MetroWest Hospitality Award
Nominated by MetroWest Visitors Bureau for the Regional Tourism Councils of Massachusetts award, she will be honored at the State House.

Ashley Newhall, senior experience manager at American Girl Boston Natick, has been named winner of the first MetroWest Hospitality Award by the Regional Tourism Councils of Massachusetts.
Newhall was nominated for this award by the Metrowest Visitors Bureau (MWVB), which cited not only her exemplary work as the retailer’s senior experience manager, but her collaborative and creative approach to creating mutually beneficial partnerships with other organizations and businesses.
Winners of the Regional Tourism Councils’ Hospitality Awards will be honored at the Massachusetts State House on Wednesday, May 13, as part of State House Tourism Day.

“Ashley creates wonderful experiences for visitors to American Girl, whether they live nearby or travel long distances to get to her destination,” said Susan Nicholl, executive director of the MetroWest Visitors Bureau. “Moreover, by inviting other businesses and nonprofits to create experiences for American Girl customers, Ashley makes an impact on the region’s economy overall.”
Nicholl also cited Newhall’s volunteer service with other initiatives to strengthen the region’s economy, including the development of Shop & Explore MetroWest, a 2012-14 program designed to bring increase customers at more than 100 MetroWest businesses and nonprofits.

Previous to joining the staff at American Girl, Newhall’s retail career included roles at Babystyle, Gap, and Baby Gap.
A native of Walpole, she lives in Ashland.
The 16 Regional Tourism Councils of Massachusetts are nonprofit organizations that work to stimulate their local economies by marketing the attractions, lodging, cultural and recreational venues, dining experiences, retailers, and events that draw visitors. These marketing efforts are designed to strengthen businesses (forprofit and non-profit) while generating sales tax revenue for the Commonwealth.
As the designated Regional Tourism Council that markets MetroWest, MetroWest Visitors Bureau’s B’s service area is composed of a core 19 municipalities, including Framingham, stretching from Natick to Westborough on the east and west and Hudson to Bellingham on the north and south, as well as organizations based in a 12 additional towns.
