Ashland Crash Victim Inspires Flyers to Victory
Senior football player Damari Yarrell walked on to Bowditch Field with crutches Friday night. Flyers defeated Taunton 22-12.

On Sunday, Oct. 25 just before 1:30 a.m. a KIa Forte crashed into a pole and landed in a swamp area in Ashland. Inside were five individuals with ties to Framingham High School, including senior football player Damari Yarrell.
Yarrell was flown by medical helicopter from the crash scene to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He had a broken pelvis and a serious leg injury. He underwent six hours of surgery and a rod was installed in his leg.
Friday night, walking with crutches on to the grass at Bowditch Field, he was the honorary captain for the Framingham High football team.

The Flyers, who were 1-7 on the season, were set to battle the winless Taunton Tigers.
Before the game, Yarrell visited the locker room of the Flyers.

His remarkable recovery in less than two weeks, inspired the Flyers to a 22-12 victory over Taunton.
The game was battle on until #44 intercepted a pass and gave the Flyers a 15-6 lead in the fourth quarter.
The Framingham High football team, under head coach Gary Doherty, now has two games left on the season - an away game against Milford this week and the Thanksgiving game in Natick.
