Authors To Sell, Autograph Books at Framingham High Holiday Marketplace Saturday

Cap’n McNasty will make an appearance at the 8th Annual Framingham High Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, Dec. 5.

The captain is the star of children’s book The Great Pirate Christmas Battle, by Weymouth author Michael Lewis.

Lewis will be selling and autographing copies of his Christmas tale at the Marketplace, along with a dozen other Massachusetts authors.

This is the first time authors have been a part of the popular event sponsored by the Framingham High School Foundation.

Each author will have a table at the marketplace to sell and autograph copies of their books.

Also at the 8th Annual Framingham High Holiday Marketplace will be more than 60 vendors selling home-made products, crafts, candles, jewelry, clothing, and more. The Marketplace will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Lewis’ book, illustrated by Stan Jaskiel of Salem, Cap’n McNasty and Santa battle for the very future of Christmas.

“Cap’n McNasty with his crew of pirates steal Christmas presents from sleeping children. Their daring raid pays off in sweets and toys, much to the pirates’ delight. As they happily bounce on their hornswoggled pogo sticks and scarf down Christmas cookies, the pirates vow to steal gifts every year-but their plans are shaken up like a bowl full of jelly when Santa and his elves arrive! Holiday hijinks ensue as the pirates get their halls decked and plums sugared. The rapscallions are tied up in tinsel and seemingly foiled, but Cap’n McNasty won’t go down without a fight! He and St. Nick square off in a duel of hook versus candy cane.”
