Avery Inducted Into Massachusetts Coaches Hall of Fame

Framingham's Dan Avery has been the head coach for boys soccer for 34 seasons, and has a record of 385-167-125.

Framingham High boys soccer head coach Dan Avery was inducted into the Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Hall of Fame during halftime of the Framingham vs Brookline game Thursday night at Bowditch Field.

Avery has been the head coach for 34 seasons, coaching 677 varsity games.

He has amassed a record of 385-167-125.

He won a state title in 1992, has won three Eastern Massachusetts Division 1 championships, and 10 Bay State League titles.

β€œNot bad for a baseball guy,” said Avery, who also is the Framingham High baseball coach.

In his 34 seasons, his soccer teams have qualified 27 times for post-season play, and won 45 tournament games.

Avery, who lives in Framingham, was honored at halftime with his wife and son.

Avery is employed by the Town of Framingham as the Parks & Recreation Activities Supervisor.

The Flyers won the game 1-0 Thursday night, which was also the final home game for seniors.
