Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest Receive $100 K For Summer Programming
The funds will provide financial assistance for up to 800 kids to participate in activities at the Framingham Clubhouse
FRAMINGHAM, MA – As many as 800 children will be able to attend summer programming at the Framingham Clubhouse, thanks to a $100,000 donation received by the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest.
The Manton Foundation has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest to make a transformation gift of $100,000 that will provide financial assistance for up to 800 youth to attend the summer program at the Framingham Clubhouse.
The summer program includes activities for youth and teens ages 5-14 and runs for eight weeks this summer, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m-5:30 p.m. beginning June 27 and ending August 19. The Summer Reading Incentive Program, field trips, arts & crafts, sports, and STEM are among the activities planned for the summer program.

“Because of this generous investment from The Manton Foundation, we are able to meet the increased demand for financial assistance for our summer program," said BGCMW President and CEO Chris Duane. "Parents are still in need of supervision for their children while they work, and this program ensures that parents and guardians have access to affordable summer care.”
The program also includes breakfast and lunch to all participants daily through a partnership with the Framingham Public Schools and Project Bread.

"My daughter, Savannah, will get to attend the program all summer long,” said Amie Sorel, a Framingham Clubhouse parent. “I am truly grateful for the help the Boys & Girls Club has given my family. This helps me a great deal with not having to stress about what bill I can’t pay because I need to pay for summer. It is a peace of mind.”
The Manton Foundation has invested $400,000 in the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest for capital improvements since 2017, but this gift will directly impact the youth and their families.
“When we learned about the need for affordable summer programming, with long hours, for families in South Framingham, we were immediately drawn to support," according to a statement from the trustees of the Manton Foundation. "It is exciting to make a gift like this – a first of its kind for the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest.”
